Synopsis

From the award-winning team behind the Oscar® winning films “Chicago” and “Memoirs of a Geisha” comes a colorful new take from the Tony Award® nominee Rob Marshall, “Nine” tells the story of Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis), a world-class filmmaker who is savoring his most recent (and greatest) success.

Unfortunately Guido is also facing his fortieth birthday and a midlife crisis of epic proportions, blocking his creative impulses and entangling him in a web of romantic difficulties.

As Contini struggles to overcome his crippling case of writers’ block, his mind casts back to all the women in his life as beautifully vivid memories become interwoven with reality, in what is sure to be an award-winning smash-hit.

"Nine" is a savvy piece of musical filmmaking. Sophisticated, sexy and stylishly decked out, Rob Marshall's disciplined, tightly focused film impresses and amuses as it extravagantly renders the creative crisis of a middle-aged Italian director, circa 1965." (Variety - Todd McCarthy)

"One of the most hotly anticipated talent packages this decade, the big-screen version of 1982 Broadway hit musical Nine is a razzle-dazzle star-fest..." (Screendaily - Mike Goodridge) "'Nine' is a sparkling ten! Brilliantly directed and choreographed by Rob Marshall, it has the sexiest cast on screen this year! I predict 'Nine' will be garlanded with multiple Oscar nominations! Bellisimo!" (Baz Bamigboye - The Daily Mail)
