Prorom Media-Trade GmbH was founded in 1992, starting with TV distribution in Romania in collaboration with the major US studios.

In 2001 the company expanded its activities to all rights becoming one of the leading independent distributors in Romania. In 2006/2007 Prorom expanded its activities to licensing and distribution in Hungary and Bulgaria.

The company is the exclusive partner of the Berlin based Eastern European Acquisition Pool GmbH for the territory of Romania.
