The Comeback Trail: Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones & Morgan Freeman – back in cinemas with a new comedy from director George Gallo

Don't call it a comeback... Okay, call it a comeback. The Comeback Trail, starring Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones and Morgan Freeman is coming to Romanian cinemas starting May 28.

In The Comeback Trail, Producer Max Barber (Robert De Niro) is in major debt after his latest film bombs. With his life at stake, Max decides to produce a new film, all to kill his lead in a stunt so he can rake in the insurance.

But when Max casts Duke Montana (Tommy Lee Jones) as his lead, he ends up getting more than he ever could have imagined.

De Niro first worked with The Comeback Trail director and co-writer George Gallo on another comedy, Midnight Run in 1988 (directed by Martin Brest). It’s taken them three decades to come back together, but they finally made this happen with The Comeback Trail.

The producer David E. Ornston said: The Comeback Trail was definitely the funniest film I've ever worked on. It started with a great script and kept getting better and better. George Gallo and Josh Posner did an amazing job penning the hysterics that led us to attract the incredible actors who wanted to perform in this film”.

Prorom will release The Comeback Trail in Romanian cinemas starting May 28.
