Uncut, uncensored, and with extra footage - Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is coming to cinemas in Romania

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, the complete and re-edited version of Quentin Tarantino’s film, which combines Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) into a single 4-hour-and-35-minute feature (with a 15-minute intermission), will be screened in full on big screens across Romania.

The film includes additional scenes and a slightly different ordering of certain sequences, presenting the story of The Bride as a continuous cinematic experience.

The theatrical event will take place between May 29 and June 11, both in multiplexes and independent cinemas throughout Romania.

The film also features a newly extended anime sequence about O-Ren’s origin story, in which she takes revenge on Pretty Riki, an associate of a yakuza boss, as well as “The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge,” created in Fortnite.

Speaking about the full version, Tarantino said: “I wrote and directed it as one film—and I’m so happy to give fans the chance to see it that way. The best way to experience Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is in a movie theater. Blood and guts on a big screen in all their glory!”

The decision to release The Whole Bloody Affair is no coincidence. As early as 2014, at San Diego Comic-Con, Tarantino spoke about the existence of a version featuring animated material, and fans have speculated for years about when—and if—it would become available to the general public. The timing now carries special significance, given that the director has already announced his retirement after his next film.

In film history, Kill Bill remains one of the most influential works of the 2000s, cementing Tarantino’s reputation as a visionary director unafraid to blend genres. The film is a stylized postmodern homage to action cinema, particularly 1970s kung fu films, samurai cinema, and spaghetti westerns.

For cinephiles, it is considered a masterpiece of visual style and non-linear storytelling. The character Beatrix Kiddo (Uma Thurman), also known as “The Bride” or “Black Mamba,” redefined the action heroine. Driven by a deeply personal vendetta, she combines raw physical strength with an emotional complexity rarely seen in the action genre.

Released by Lionsgate in the United States, the film has enjoyed major success among fans, with a long run of sold-out screenings.

In Romania, the film will be distributed by Prorom and Bad Unicorn, with the full list of partner cinemas and screening schedules to be announced soon on www.badunicorn.ro
